At Mashed08, a two-day hack event sponsored by the BBC, a team from BBC Research and Development presented the Audio Visualisation tool on a touchscreen that uses a spiral visualisaton to depict the last two hours of a radio service. The spiral is updated in real time, and the touch screen gives us a one-hour 'listen again' service. You can see the white paper

Maker Faire seeks to inspire, inform, connect and entertain thousands of Makers and aspiring Makers of all ages and backgrounds through the public gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, students, authors and commercial exhibitors.
The first UK Maker Faire took place in Newcastle 14-15 March 2009 as part of Newcastle ScienceFest - a 10 day festival celebrating creativity and innovation.
